  • Parade '09 Great Room

    A view into the Great Room from the kitchen sink area. Miracle designs are directed by furniture placement. Here you see an ample clearance of 4 feet between the couch and dining area.

    A closer look at the Great Room's story and a half tall rear windows. A custom, simple grid pattern was used on the windows, with no grids on window lower sashes. If we had traditional rectangular grid patterns, the view would be hindered by a grid pattern.

    The Great Room is spanned by one long, curving, plant shelf. Here you may notice a unique new shape of drywall corner was used on the bottom of the shelf, just under the wood paneled front.

    The small window, which is above the television plant ledge, views into the optional loft area. The room features unique hanging light placement, over the 2 couches.

    A view from the dining room towards the couch area. Everyone in the dining, kitchen, and couch areas enjot a view to the fireplace and television total seating (8 max in dining, 6 max at counter, 8 on couches) is for 22 guests.

    The details of the great room include 10 inch high, 2 piece base boards and a wall relief inset with unique drywall formed moldings that frame the inset.

    The fireplace was shaped to protrude into the room so it is not hidden by the couch. Ledgestone was mixed with cultured brick. The mantle is made of artistically painted drywall.

    The dining area easily sits 8 (6 chairs were available for this photo). The small window about the hutch alcove allows light to pass into the master bedroom. While not visibile in this photo, the framed painting to the left of the patio door is lighted by an eyeball light under the plant shelf.

    A view of the kitchen shows a sweeping curved counter with stools for 6. Details include a refridgerator cabinet design that is brought out to the front of the refridgerator, and a 2-sided hanging wall cabinet that can be reached from both kitchen and great room sides.

    Looking down on the granite counter tops of the kitchen, you see the under-mounted stainless steel sink.

    Details abound in this view of a large circular-shaped plant/decor shelf, located over the pantry. Notice the ribbed-glass panel on the top of the pantry door, and a series of lighted art alcoves which were designed in a sloped wall-to-ceiling expanse.

    The walk-in kitchen pantry is made possible by stealing some space which is over the basement stairs. Notice the pewter finished upgrade wire shelving.

    Instead of using a common up-and-down staggered cabinet design, this kitchen also used our new in-and-out staggered design. In this method, some cabinets are pushed into the wall.

    2 new cabinet ideas were introduced into this kitchen. Above you see decorating cabinets that hold vases or florals but are enclosed which lessens dusting chores. Below you see how the wall cabinets were pushed into the walls which enables these wall cabinets to be located lower to the counters, creating easier accessibility to upper shelves.

    A view from the kitchen looks into the efficient laundry room. The wood floor from the kitchen is visually flowing (connecting) the laundry area to the kitchen. The "S" shaped vinyl flooring neatly takes the wood floor away from the garage door traffic and the washer/dryer areas. The flat panel steel garage access door as artistically painted to immitate nearby doors.

    The cabinets over the washer/dryer appliances protrudes 12 inches over the 30 inch deep appliances. If a client is using front-load appliances, a convenient countertop could have been built over the top of these appliances.

    The built-in mock-locker area gives each family member a place of their own. Notice the black wash basket on the floor (right) which gathers clothes deposited through the master closet (adjoining wall) clothes chute. A small clothes-folding counter is opposite the locker wall (seen in the right foreground).

  • Parade '09 Kid's Bathroom

    The guest bathroom became visually "bigger" by creating a furniture-styled vanity. The legs on this vanity allows the eye to see more flooring which visually expands the room. The hardwood floor seems to connect this bathroom to the adjoining hardwood floored hallway. The tile in front of the tub affords better water protection than wood flooring, while matching the tub wall surrounds. Notice how the recycled beer bottle countertops glass colors were matched into the mirror accent details.

    A large 11x18 foot loft is accessed by an "L" shaped narrow staircase by the kid's bedroom hallway. Here you see the stairs (on left) has a window to illuminate both stairs and the hall below. The theme of this room was "Pillows N' Dreams", encouraging visitors to dream and imagine. A full sized couch allows adult guests to watch the television on the opposite (not seen here) wall television.

    Over 100 bedroom pillows were placed into the loft to create a soft-play creative environment. Here kids could relax or use the pillows to create stacked walls for forts. Notice how the small window (on the left) overlooks the great room below.

    The 2 main walls of the "Pillows N' Dreams" loft were adorned with creative quotes from famous people. These signs were printed onto pillow shapes that matched the room colored floor pillows.

    As you descend the loft "Pillows N' Dreams" staircase, you see this peek-a-boo windows, which views onto the adjoining badroom's plant shelf. It appears as though one of the Disney's dalmations has painted pawprints of the word "Dream" on the window. Notice the tall mother dalmation, then see the next photo to see how this shelf relates from the bedroom side.

    Various Disney animated characters are displayed around the upper area of an animation-themed bedroom. Notice the ceiling area on the upper right of photo. A large 8x8 foot ceiling mural was custom painted and framed by a square made of black strip track lights.

    An 8x8 foot custom ceiling mural was painted in an animation themed bedroom, which was outlined by black (top of photo) mstrip track lights. Here you see ex-Disney artist Philo Barnhart's cloud painted visions of Alladin, and Beauty and the Beast.

    Ex-Disney artist Philo Barnhart greeted and drew for guests who visited this animation-themed bedroom. Here you see a glimpse of some large wall area where pin cushion corkboard was framed into the design.

    The animation-themed bedroom had vaulted taller ceilings. Various character statues were placed onto clear plexiglass shelves which had a staggered pattern from floor to ceiling.
